This recipe is incredibly delicious. I can assure you, you would want to double it. The picky eaters in the family would ask for more food. I wanted to make something new to give to you guys. So I created this crunchy bites.
Please know that this recipe is a little spicy, if your family does not like spicy food reduce the sriracha sauce, or if you prefer it spicier add more. The beauty of this recipe is that is simple, tasty and with a crunch.

Spicy Crunchy Broccoli Bites

- Medium sauce pan
- Wooden spoon
Ingredients
For the Broccoli
- 1 Cup Chickpea or brown rice flour
- 5 Tbsp Nutrional yeast
- 1 Tsp Paprika
- 1 Tsp Cumin
- 1 Tsp Black pepper
- 1 Cup Plant-based milk
- 2 Cups Breadcrums I also use panko
- 1/4 Tsp Turmeric
- 6 Cups Broccoli florets
Spicy Sauce
- 3 Tbsp Tamari
- 2 Tbsp Apple cide vinegar
- 1/2 Tsp tomato paste
- 1 1/2 Tbsp Sriracha sauce
- 1 Tbsp Maple or agave syrup
- 1/2 cup Water
- 1 Tbsp Cornstarch
- 1 Fresh lime ( the juice only)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C)1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, nurtional yeast, paprika, cumin, black pepper, turmeric and plant milk.2. Dip the broccoli florets in the batter, then in the breadcrumbs. Do this step making sure the broccoli florets are cover .3. Tranfers to the baking sheet, and bake for 25 minutes, or until crispy. Make sure you turn them to get the crunch on both sides.
Spicy Sauce
- 1. Place the sauce pan in medium heat. Next mix the water and cornstarch.2. Add the water to the sauce pan, next add the sriracha, apple cider, tomato paste and maple syrup. Let it cook for 1-2 minutes mixing it constantly.3. Once the sauce starts to thicken, add the fresh lime juice mix and remove from heat.
Serve the broccoli
- 1. Once the broccoli florets are out of the oven, place the broccoli in a large mixing bowl. Pour the spicy sauce over the broccoli and combine. 2. Serve with a side of rice or just by itself.
Notes
Suggestions on how to serve: you can eat it by itself, or serve with a side of rice and edamame. You can also put it on a salad for a tasty and crunchy bite.
It must babe eaten the same day, it does not stores well.
