Diets: Why They Don’t Work For Everyone III

Part Three

How can we learned from our mistakes.

As I talk in the previous post about identifying our strengths and weaknesses is key. The first step is to identified your eating patterns. Most importantly to understand all of the ones you are dealing with are normal circumstances. Personally I use to struggle mostly with skipping meals or too many snacks when I was feeling stress. Second I tent to snack mostly at night because I get stress. Third I believe making a plan that works for your schedule it’s very important for each person.  With that being said here is how I made it work for me.

For instance I learned that my body and health was important, mostly because I was annoyed with my self-image. It was important to make the change and it was now or never for me at this point. This time I was looking for a safe way to stay healthy, to be able to run and do activities with my kids without feeling tired. For me what work was to get to know my habits and that help me to make the necessary changes. Life comes at us fast and things do get on the way, for me it’s dessert lol. Do not think that having habits is bad they are part of us and necessary in our lives to function.

Thus certain habits are good for us, others can hurt us, remember that balance is key. We need to understand what works for us, for example what works for me to stay on track and find balance, it’s the same as using sticky notes on my journal, for you it might be like creating an excel file. You see it’s important to know what method works best and which don’t. Depending on which method works for you it can help you to reduce stress, anxiety and to deal better with any problems. Changes can help us if we put the work. We need to take control of what we can, we can focus on the good things. For me it’s when I finally decided to change my mindset and I was able to help myself.

In reality if you do not find happiness with things in your life the best choice is to make the necessary changes. By taking small steps into your health you will feel empowered, that will help you to stay on track of your goals. If you have kids as I do it’s also important to show our children that taking small steps into our health and by been less stress our children will benefit too and learned good habits for their own personal life.
