Much Love!
I started this blog, because I was a struggling mother with health and weight problems. I didn’t know what I needed to do in the beginning. Most fitness programs that were available would not adjust to my needs or my schedule and I could not pay a gym membership plus a personal trainer. To top all of off I didn’t want to do diets. After failing a few times I was able to find what works for me.
I began to read, did research and developed relationships in the fitness industry, until I was finally able to find what worked. It has nothing to do with diets, skipping meals, or just working-out. The way I do things is based on my body type, my time and health needs. I was able to loose 34.5lbs putting me on my ideal weight.
I decided to write about it in hopes of helping others, that like me are struggling to find the balance between eating what you like, an exercising routine that fits you and most importantly mind health. I am a firm believer that anything is possible and there is no magic pill to do achieve what we wish. It takes desire, a strong support system and lots of dedication to get there… And I will be there with you.
Why do a Blog?
I wanted to be able to help others that are struggling with bad eating habits, by providing resources to eat well, because eating healthy does not need to be boring. I do not believe in diets! and I wanted to show others that you can loose weight and stay healthy with the proper way of eating and exercising.
Do your kids eat everything you cook?
Yes and NO. They do eat everything plant-based or vegetarian that I cook when dad is not home. But when he is here they prefer to choose some of his food. I won’t force them to be certain a way as long as they try everything and continue to eat healthy.
Is everyone Plant-based in your Home ?
My children will eat everything I cook. When dad is traveling all food is plant based. I will eat a slice of pizza every now and then and that’s why I consider myself a vegetarian. My husband is not plant-based or vegetarian, so when he’s home I cook for him what he likes. He does eat steak and other meats. This does not bother me. I do wish he will eat the way I do so I won’t have to cook two meals when he is home but other than that we are all good at home, by accepting and respecting each other.
What does being plant-based means?
it means I do not consume any dairy or meats of any kind. My lifestyle is not a diet. I supplement my body with the same proteins as a carnivore but with the power of plants. I read the labels of my food and I try to make the healthiest choice for me and my family even while eating out.
Do your kids like this lifestyle?
My children are not forced to strictly eat what I eat. They have being taught to eat what is put on the table and to be grateful that we have food available, since not everyone is lucky to have food everyday. They do eat junk stuff even when they know how to read labels, because they are kids and I will never force anything on them, just like I will not like anyone forcing anything on me.
Your kids must like vegetables & fruits because they have being eating them since they are little?
Yes, they have being eating fruits & vegetables since they could start eating solids, but like with everything and everyone their likes and dislikes change and I have adapted to make them eat more fruits and vegetables or at least give new ones a try.
How can you live without cheese?
Let me tell you, it is hard, not at all easy. Nowadays we have more options that taste just like the real deal. But here is where I have a hard time, I am pretty much all plant based and I do not drink any milk, but I cannot say no pizza, so I do not want to be a hypocrite and say I am all plant-based cause if I see pizza I will at least have one slice. The rest of my food is plan-based except for that. Hopefully they make a vegan option soon.
Who designed your Blog/website?
Me
Why did you decided to go vegan?
For a medical reason. I believe god puts us where we need to be and I sure don’t miss any meats or any other animal product in my life, except, I will eat a slice of cheese pizza.
